The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency terminated its 2022 cease-and-desist order against Anchorage Digital, declaring the crypto custodian no longer requires enhanced anti-money laundering oversight. The move reflects Washington's evolving stance toward digital asset firms under both Trump-era and current leadership.

"We received — and have now resolved — feedback from regulators as we set the standard for federally chartered custody of digital assets," said CEO Nathan McCauley, positioning the firm as the "world's most regulated digital asset bank." The decision coincides with new OCC chief Jonathan Gould's appointment, a Bitfury alumnus signaling regulatory continuity.
